Former head of “Israel’s” Shin Bet security agency, Ami Ayalon, stated “If we shall not end the occupation, we shall not have security,” in an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour.

Adding, “And if we shall not end this occupation, we shall not have democracy.”

This isn't the first time Ayalon has publicly shared his unvarnished views.

Earlier this year, in an interview with Haaretz journalist, Yossi Melman, Ayalon offered a detailed analysis of the war on Gaza and outlined potential exit strategies.

Additionally, Ayalon cautioned against underestimating Palestinian resilience.

“If anyone thinks that the Palestinians will surrender even if [Hamas leader in Gaza Yahya] Sinwar returns to his maker, they don’t know the Palestinians, or Hamas, or radical Islamic movements of the current century,” he said.

Ayalon further asserted that “Israel” would not achieve a "picture of victory" from this war, even if it succeeded in assassinating Sinwar.

Ayalon’s proposed solution involves a prisoner exchange: the release of all “Israeli” captives in return for Palestinian prisoners, including Marwan Barghouti, whom Ayalon views as a pivotal leader for the Palestinians in the post-war period.
